Climate change is causing deep uncertainty at all levels of society, with climate volatility reducing the security of land-based assets and posing security threats to enterprises, societies, and governments.
Mitiga, a spinoff from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center—which hosts MareNostrum, one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers—aims to employ advanced science and technology to mitigate climate-related risks. Our approach includes real-time, annual, and century-scale forecasts, alongside risk transfer mechanisms like catastrophe bonds, to enhance climate resilience, mitigation, and equity.
