**Head of Programmes**:
**in Dhaka**:
- The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Dhaka, Bangladesh.- Welthungerhilfe Bangladesh currently implements 10 emergency and development projects in different locations. Our interventions focus on humanitarian aid, food and nutrition security, agriculture and economic development, climate and disaster risk reduction (DRR). As Head of Programmes you will support the implementation of the multiannual country programme. You will contribute to its implementation and monitoring in order to maximise the impact on the basis of Welthungerhilfe's strategy and quality standards. Furthermore, you will represent Welthungerhilfe in Bangladesh in agreement with the Country Director.**Your responsibilities**:
- Identify, examine and assess new project ideas on the basis of the country programme and intervention strategy
- Lead and develop high quality proposals in collaboration with the program team
- Ensure appropriate, high-quality and timely reporting
- Identify potential new national and international partners, ensuring active collaboration and/or capacity building
- Support project implementation according to Welthungerhilfe quality standards, including the setup of an effective and participatory MEAL system
- Prepare project budgets collaboratively with programme and finance staff and track project expenditures
- Represent Welthungerhilfe in coordination committees and vis-à-vis other national and international, governmental and non-governmental bodies
**Your profile**:
- A university or polytechnic degree in humanitarian/development studies or an equivalent degree related to the position
- More than 5 years of professional experience in leadership roles, both in development and humanitarian contexts
- Donor relations experience (German donors)
- Strong proposal writing and programme development skills (food security, nutrition, climate change, disaster risk reduction)
- Excellent communication and intercultural skills as well as coordination and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure
- Ability to contribute to developing the capacities of the team and strengthening team collaboration
- Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for traveling to Welthungerhilfe's programme countries
- Excellent spoken and written English and German
