Career Opportunities: Quality Manager (1644)
Global Corporate Quality Manager for a multinational company with mining and processing operations.
This position will be crucial to ensure excellence in integrated quality management across all our subsidiaries and operations globally.
The ideal candidate must ensure compliance with quality assurance and control processes, manage local laboratories and a corporate lab, and lead internal and external audits. In addition, it will promote the continuous improvement of operations from mineral extraction to the delivery of final products.
FUNCTIONS
* Manage the team to follow policies and procedures to achieve the goals and objectives. Selection and retention, communication, development, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions.
* Integrated Quality Management: Implement and maintain quality management systems (ISO 9001 and other international standards) in all global operations.
* Quality Assurance and Control: Develop and implement quality assurance and control strategies for all stages of the production process.
* Laboratory Management: Supervise and optimize the operation of local quality and analysis laboratories and the Corporate Quality and Analysis Laboratory.
* Mineral Analysis: Coordinate and ensure quality in analyzing minerals from extraction to transformation.
* Quality Audits: Plan and execute internal audits and prepare the organization for external quality audits conducted by international clients and certifiers.
* Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, products, and the use of mineral resources.
* Resource Management: Manage material and human resources dedicated to quality in all global operations.
* Training and Development: Train local teams in good quality management practices.
B
* Education: University degree in Chemistry, Geology, Mining Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. Postgraduate in Quality Management will be especially valued.
* Experience: 6+ years of experience in quality management roles in manufacturing sectors, preferably with exposure to mining and materials processing activities.
* Certifications: Certification in quality management systems (ISO 9001, others such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing are desirable).
* Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and control techniques, laboratory management and materials analysis.
* Management Skills: Strong leadership skills, communication skills and experience in managing multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
* Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish; Other languages will be valued.
* Travel Availability: Ability to travel abroad frequently (approximately 1 week per month)
