We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Resilience & Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our team in Madrid.
Overview of the Role
As a Senior Resilience & Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing and operating robust disaster recovery and resilience capabilities for mission-critical production environments.
Detailed Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive disaster recovery (DR) strategies and resilience frameworks across multiple platforms and environments.
* Lead DR planning, testing, and execution, including coordination of failover and failback procedures to ensure seamless recovery during incidents.
* Conduct regular readiness reviews, risk assessments, and gap analyses to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and operational requirements.
* Collaborate closely with infrastructure, application, and cybersecurity teams to integrate resilience measures and optimize business continuity processes.
* Provide expert support for mission-critical production environments, facilitating swift resolution of incidents and minimizing downtime.
* Document and maintain DR procedures, reports, and evidence for audits and regulatory reviews.
* Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging threats, and technological advancements relevant to disaster recovery and resilience.
Skill Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
* 7+ years of experience in disaster recovery, resilience planning, or business continuity in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
* Strong knowledge of DR frameworks, methodologies, and tools (e.g., backup/recovery solutions, replication technologies, orchestration platforms).
* Proven experience in DR testing, failover/failback coordination, and regulatory alignment.
* Familiarity with IT infrastructure, application landscapes, and cybersecurity principles.
* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration.
* Relevant certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), DRCP (Disaster Recovery Certified Professional), or equivalent.
Nice to Have
* Experience with cloud-based DR solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Advanced certifications in IT resilience or related disciplines.
* Background in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is advantageous.
* Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools for DR processes.
