Position Overview
The Connections & Youth Coordinator is the key point of contact for ADRA Canada's youth-centered programs and is a passionate advocate for empowering and engaging youth in ADRA Canada's mission. Embodying our core values of being Connected, Courageous, and Compassionate, the coordinator will manage youth-focused fundraising efforts and organize youth trips to deepen understanding of ADRA Canada's work, promoting justice, compassion, and love.
Reporting & Location
* Reporting to : Philanthropy & Marketing Director
* Location : ADRA Canada Headquarters in Newcastle, ON, Canada (remote work considered on a case-by-case basis)
Travel & Work Hours
* International and / or national travel approximately 6-8 times per year
* 38 hours per week, with options for a 4-day workweek and hybrid work (3 days in-office, 1 day remote)

Key Responsibilities
* Participate in daily worship and prayers, leading sessions as scheduled
* Counsel callers, including church members, and promote the role of the Seventh-day Adventist mission
* Encourage and educate partners about ADRA's ministry, maintaining alignment with religious teachings
* Represent ADRA Canada in publications and at speaking engagements
* Ensure activities align with the values and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Operational & Technical Duties
* Develop and implement peer-to-peer fundraising platforms targeting youth involvement
* Support and guide youth fundraisers, utilizing social media to increase engagement
Youth Initiatives :
* Manage the 'Change the World' Young Fundraisers initiative
* Build relationships with young potential fundraisers and provide necessary tools and motivation
School & Community Engagement :
* Serve as the primary contact for schools and organizations involved in the Champions / Advocates program
* Develop partnerships and facilitate youth involvement in campaigns and events
* Coordinate efforts with schools, universities, youth groups, and churches for fundraising campaigns
* Support and motivate youth in fundraising activities
Connections Trips & Program Development
* Expand ADRA Connections within Canada through activities and promotions
* Develop volunteer units across Canada
* Collaborate with international offices to establish relevant projects
* Organize and oversee youth trips, ensuring logistics, safety, and meaningful engagement
* Mentor trip leaders and foster ethical participation
Qualifications & Competencies
Must-Haves :
* Bachelor's degree in Education, International Development, Youth Ministry, or related fields
* Experience in youth leadership, managing school partnerships, and organizing trips
* Experience in international development or community service projects
* Canadian citizenship or legal work authorization
* Strong planning, leadership, communication, and cultural sensitivity skills
* Understanding of human rights issues, especially concerning women and girls
* Master's degree preferred
* First aid, CPR-C, and mental health certifications (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience traveling to resource-limited or high-risk areas
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media, CRM, and fundraising tools
* Fluent in English; French language skills are an asset
