Job Summary : Develop and underwrite a Commercial Property portfolio in regional European markets within the Property Risks team. Provide counsel and advice on underwriting and market issues, offering technical expertise to maintain and enhance Beazley's market reputation. Reporting to a European Portfolio Lead, this senior position involves planning and executing regional strategies.
Key Responsibilities :
* Develop and underwrite a profitable Commercial Property portfolio as part of the Property Risks team.
* Structure tailored solutions considering underwriting parameters and policies to win new business and retain existing clients.
* Monitor premiums, costs, and claims ratios, taking corrective actions to ensure long-term profitability.
* Evaluate appropriate risk premiums based on risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure, and administrative costs, utilizing rating models as needed.
* Oversee peer underwriters to ensure profitability and efficient account administration.
* Supervise assistants' daily work to ensure compliance with underwriting policies and consistency within the team.
* Adhere to Beazley's underwriting control standards across all business written through Lloyd’s, subsidiaries, or MGAs.
* Develop and maintain good relationships with claims managers.
Client Management :
* Advise and service clients on insurance and risk management to ensure satisfaction.
* Foster positive relationships to understand client and Beazley's needs.
Business Relationships :
* Maintain good relationships with brokers.
* Stay informed about Beazley's product range and identify opportunities to cross-sell.
General :
* Leverage networking to develop standardized underwriting policies and best practices.
* Disseminate knowledge within the Property Risks team and across Beazley.
* Collaborate with peers to maximize business opportunities and profitability, sharing market insights and cross-selling opportunities.
* Create presentations, marketing materials, business plans, and research documents as needed.

* Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations, including FCA and PRA conduct rules.
