Potential Focus Areas & Key Responsibilities
As a Game Data Analyst / Scientist / Economist, your responsibilities will vary based on your specialization and the team's current needs. Potential areas of focus include:
* Player Behavior Analysis & Insights:
o Analyze player behavior, engagement patterns, and user experience data using statistical techniques, machine learning, and exploratory data analysis.
o Identify trends, uncover user segments, and provide actionable insights to optimize existing features and inform new game development.
o Develop and monitor critical metrics related to player engagement, retention, and monetization.
* Game Economy Design & Management:
o Design, configure, monitor, and optimize the economy of game features and events, including defining pricing for purchasable items and collectibles.
o Provide economic insights to product and game operations teams to encourage growth and improve player experience.
o Share game economy standard methodologies and knowledge across the company.
* Data Science & Analytical Solutions:
o Develop and implement analytical techniques, statistical models, causal inference, or machine learning models to answer complicated business questions and address exciting problems.
o Develop simulations of player behavior to improve game design and feature development.
o Collaborate with data engineering to implement in-game tracking and build end-to-end data pipelines.

Qualifications
* Required Skills and Qualifications:
o Academic Background:
A degree or equivalent work experience in a quantitative field, including but not limited to:
+ Economics
+ Statistics
+ Mathematics
+ Computer Engineering / Computer Science
+ Data Science
+ Finance
+ Sciences (especially Physics)
+ Other fields with a strong quantitative aspect.
o Analytical Prowess:
Passion for quantitative analysis, with the ability to interpret data, generate actionable business insights, and translate complex problems into clear recommendations. Experience in understanding context and looking after ambiguous requirements.
* Technical Skills:
o Excel skills
o Basic understanding of statistics
o Preferred:
Curiosity about the mobile games industry.
o Communication & Collaboration:
Good communication skills, capable of presenting insights and ideas clearly to various audiences. Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams, and reach out for help and support.
o Proactiveness & Learning:
Intuitive and proactive with regards to data interpretation. Eagerness to learn new skills and explore different approaches, whether it is in collaborating, communicating, or data analysis.
* Meriting Skills:
o Proficient in English both written and verbal
o An advanced degree or equivalent experience in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
o Experience with machine learning model development.
o Experience in econometrics, causal inference, or simulation modeling (e.G., Monte-Carlo modeling).
o Experience with data processing / data-heavy research projects.
o Experience coding in SQL, Python, and/or R.

At this time, we are unable to sponsor work visas for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the Barcelona, Spain location on a full-time basis without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
