Welcome to the future of nuclear energy, where Westinghouse Electric Company leads with expertise and innovation to shape tomorrow's power.
At Westinghouse, innovation is in our DNA. We are creative, think differently, and reimagine possibilities across the nuclear industry every day.
One of the key roles in the maintenance and operation of our simulators is the Operation Engineer.
This role involves working directly with internal customers (Training School instructors), external customers (plant operators), as well as auditors and inspectors, ensuring a professional environment with the highest standards of quality and safety.
The Operation Engineer acts as an interface between users and simulation equipment, combining knowledge of simulation technology and simulator architecture with plant operation expertise.
We seek an engineer with at least 5 years of demonstrable experience operating nuclear power plants to join our dynamic and expanding team.
After brief training, the candidate should be capable of conducting operational tests on replica or glasstop simulators, diagnosing situations, and accurately specifying work orders. We value technical decision-making skills, teamwork, and project management abilities, along with leadership qualities focused on delivering high-quality service efficiently.
We offer the opportunity to work with a team of operation engineers based in Madrid, involved in various projects related to the development, maintenance, and modernization of nuclear simulators across Europe and LATAM.
Main responsibilities include:
* Specifying modifications based on operational discrepancies reported by customers.
* Designing and executing acceptance tests for simulator changes, both individually and in overall response verification.
* Performing periodic testing required for maintaining simulator certification for training.
* Supporting the training school in testing and validating training scenarios.
* Participating in audits and inspections according to the configuration control system.
* Engaging in engineering analyses related to plant design modifications.
* Validating changes to plant operating procedures.
* Providing simulator training for end users.
Candidate requirements:
* Demonstrable training and experience in PWR operation, with certification plans tailored to the candidate.
* Spanish level B2; French B2 or C1 is desirable.
* Experience in simulation, engineering support, or operational support for CCNN is valued.
* Willingness to undertake occasional short-term travel.
Desired qualities include:
* Teamwork, innovation, professional development interest, flexibility, and autonomy.
