Account Sales Manager Southern Europe

Location: Spain (remote with up to 60% travel). Territory: Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal. Reporting to the Diversified Industrial Segment Sales Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Deliver annual defined MOEM revenue goals in full, constantly raising the bar and exceeding targets.
* Develop and coordinate all sales activities in the Industrial MOEM segment.
* Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities by prospecting, developing new MOEM customer relationships, and nurturing existing ones.
* Contribute to marketing activities, including value drivers, material development, communications and trade show participation.
* Utilize, coordinate, and enforce existing systems, procedures, and standards.
* Drive and sponsor new product innovation projects and warranty‑related projects.
* Maintain transparent communication through regular department and one‑on‑one meetings, email, and interpersonal communication.
* Make decisions within pre‑established parameters concerning quotation and contractual conditions (DOA process).
* Cover commercial and first‑level technical aspects as the sole contact for customers.
* Analyze customer RFQs, elaborate quotations, and participate in technical discussions with OEM customers.
* Establish strong relationships with customer purchasing and engineering departments.
* Maintain leadership and overall responsibility in each assigned or developed customer project.
* Communicate all relevant information about project developments to the customer.
* Research new MOEM end segments, identify new projects, and keep abreast of customer future technical requirements and competitive information.
* Transfer customer requirements to Gates Technical Centers to allow parts development, validation, and approval.

Supervisory Responsibilities

* None.
* Responsible for selling Gates' products face‑to‑face and remotely to both new and existing key customers. Research customer needs, develop product and service applications, and determine market strategies and goals for each product and service.
* Take responsibility for resolving communication, trust, and respect concerns and problems.
* Implement strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets.
* Identify and contact prospective customers and build relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.
* Monitor competitive environment, identify opportunities, and counter‑measures to address competition.
* Take primary accountability for performance and revenue results for assigned accounts and additional accountability for strategic initiatives.


Requirements and Preferred Skills

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or Marketing with 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
* Appetite for learning new end‑segment customers, technology and applications for Gates product offering.
* Proven commercial experience and demand generation skills to create customer ‘pull’ in the OEM segment.
* Understanding of Fluid Power and/or Power Transmission products and the technical OEM sales process desirable.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Self‑starter, able to work independently, organize activities, and follow up accordingly.
* Self‑directed, self‑motivated, and able to make decisions with limited guidelines and direction.
* Strong PowerPoint, Excel, SAP and CRM skills.
* Native/Business fluent in a Southern European language (Spanish, Italian, Greek or Portuguese) and fluent in English.
