As HR Manager at Splice Bio, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day HR operations and supporting managers across the organization. You will oversee HR processes, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and organizational development initiatives, ensuring that Splice Bio is attracting, retaining, and developing top talent in a high-growth biotech environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
* Collaborate with hiring managers to define recruitment needs and develop job descriptions that align with Splice Bio's mission and values.
* Own and manage the end-to-end recruitment process up to director level roles, ensuring a seamless candidate experience, coordinating internal hiring manager and external recruitment agencies, when needed.
* Build strong relationships with external recruitment agencies and other partners.
* Support the development of talent pipelines for key scientific and operational roles, and coordinate with leadership and external partners on senior hiring processes.
Employee Relations & Culture
* Act as a trusted advisor for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR-related matters and resolving conflicts as they arise.
* Reinforce the company culture and values through day-to-day interactions, promoting employee engagement, wellness, and retention.
* Lead initiatives to enhance employee experience, from onboarding through ongoing employee development.
* Support the implementation of employee surveys and feedback mechanisms to monitor satisfaction and wellbeing.
* Independently resolve the majority of employee relations matters, escalating complex, high-risk or executive level situations as appropriate.
HR Operations & Compliance
* Own and develop data-driven HR dashboards that provide the leadership team with visibility into global headcount, retention, and organizational health.
* Manage and continuously improve HR systems (HRIS) and processes to ensure they can efficiently support the company's rapid growth and evolving international needs.
* Ensure compliance with Spanish labor laws and international HR regulations.
* Oversee payroll and benefits administration, collaborating with external providers to ensure accurate and timely processing.
* Maintain up-to-date employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
* Own the day-to-day HR function, ensuring consistency, reliability and quality of HR operations across the company.
Talent Management
* Own and execute performance management processes, including goal setting, regular feedback, and employee development programs.
* Support continuous learning to foster talent growth
* Partner with leadership and the VP People & Culture on performance calibration and talent discussions, ensuring effective execution and follow-through.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
* Master's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field ideally in a scaling biotech or high-growth startup with an international footprint.
* 5+ years of experience in HR management, ideally within the biotech, life sciences, or pharma industries.
* Experience in designing and implementing talent management programs
* Proven track record in scaling HR operations, including experience implementing Global HRIS platforms to centralize data for a distributed team.
* Deep knowledge of Spanish labor law, with exposure to or a strong ability to navigate international employment regulations.
* Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
