In this role, the Field Engineer Apprentice will observe and perform various equipment service processes and procedures to drive customer satisfaction and ensure proper functionality of less complex equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
* With minimal supervision, perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections, and maintain effective customer relations.
* Follow appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation.
* Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
* Assist more experienced technicians and FSEs on basic and complex repairs/resolutions as required.
* Work as a member of the local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area and document all actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
* Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
* This is a 12‑month contract with GEHC.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Engineering vocational training or university degree (biomedicine, telecommunications, electronics, industrial). Completed within the past 3 years, must not have had this type of contract previously.
* Proven experience performing in a compliance environment and working within code and procedures to ensure safe and effective operation of devices.
* Proficiency in completing electronic documentation using PDA and computer skills.
* Previous experience developing and maintaining good customer relations.
* Willingness to occasionally travel outside of the assigned region and a valid driving license.
* Spanish and English oral and written skills.

* Previous experience in a hospital setting.
* Analytical and communication skills, and ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
* Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution‑based service process.
