What does a typical working day look like for a Crop Specialist?
On a daily basis, you gather market and product information, acting as the link connecting the international melon market, our breeding program, and our global crop organization. You collaborate closely with colleagues worldwide and play a key role in launching new varieties and shaping future product development strategies. You maintain and strengthen relationships with customers and the market. Additionally, you visit trial fields to gather market and product insights and identify opportunities for new product development. Together with your team, you advise management on the future of melons within Rijk Zwaan.
You will also have client management responsibilities, serving as an important link between customers and the crop organization. There is an opportunity to develop a commercial role through direct contact with customers—gathering information, consulting, selling, and monitoring varieties. Building extensive knowledge of technical characteristics will enable you to provide satisfactory agronomic and commercial answers to our customers.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Crop Specialist to lead key account management and project execution at the country level. The Crop Specialist will also collaborate internationally with a broader team of crop specialists to develop market solutions aligned with the crop strategy.
