Job Description:
Role Summary
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced AWS Technical Consultant to join our AWS services team and play a key role in supporting our continued growth plans. These plans aim to solidify our position as a leading global Services partner with AWS. Technical Consultants are expected to act as the lead on large-scale, complex projects and provide mentoring to fellow technical consultants. They deliver post-sales technical consultancy, undertake delivery and implementation engagements, and provide pre-sales qualification and design for consultancy engagements. A typical AWS Technical Consultant will have at least five years of experience in a technical consulting role, with a strong understanding of AWS solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Working closely with the local AWS sales and technical team, as well as the Regional Service Centre, the core responsibilities include:
Project Delivery
* Analyze customer requirements, gather data, recommend solutions, and manage the assessment, design, and implementation of solutions
* Ensure quality and consistency in consultancy assignments
* Identify technical risks to minimize exposure to commercial loss
* Deliver against vendor programs like OLA, MAP, and WAFR
* Produce and update documentation and ensure smooth handovers
* Provide technical support to internal and external customers
* Lead and present at customer workshops and opportunities
Pre-Sales, Scoping, and Services Development
* Lead or participate in customer scoping calls and workshops
* Contribute to Statements of Work
* Maintain awareness of internal SME areas
* Identify additional service and sales opportunities
* Support development of AWS service propositions and GTM strategies
* Qualify designs and opportunities
Personal Skills Development
* Participate actively in the regional AWS technical community
* Build strong relationships with channel partners' technical teams
* Stay updated on current and future technologies
* Develop expertise in chosen subject areas
* Enhance relationships with peers and continue developing consultative skills
Qualifications and Experience
An AWS Technical Consultant should have:
Desirable Qualifications
* AWS Professional Certification
* AWS Specialty Certification
Expected Experience (Design, Deployment, and Transformation)
* Over 3 years of experience in AWS complex cloud environments
* Experience with AWS Optimization Licensing and Assessment (OLA), Migration Acceleration Program (MAP), and Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR)
* Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, DataDog
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions
* Experience with containers and orchestration tools like Docker, ECS, Kubernetes
* Knowledge of VPCs/Networking, Gen AI, Machine Learning, and migrations from VMware/Azure
Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics
* At least five years in a technical consulting role
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both local language and English
* Influential, assertive, diplomatic, and mature
* Ability to operate independently or within a team
* Experience managing large-scale projects and networking with industry peers
* Deep knowledge of the chosen subject matter
* Flexible, customer-focused, and willing to go the extra mile
* Capable of handling complex problems beyond own expertise
