Reporting to the Operations Manager, Campus Services, the Supervisor, Campus Store & Course Materials is responsible for achieving goals through the supervision of Sheridan's Campus Store, retail-on-campus, and online stores. The incumbent will lead and develop retail products that meet College and department goals, manage multiple retail locations and product categories, and optimize selling space, inventory, sales mix, order completion, and service delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop strategic and operational plans, aligning resources to priorities.
* Deliver excellent customer service with prompt, reliable standards, engaging with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors.
* Identify and pursue sales, collaboration, and promotional opportunities across campuses.
* Plan, select, and purchase Course Materials for resale, developing an annual procurement plan with stakeholders.
* Review inventory for accuracy, competitiveness, and relevance to customer needs.
* Manage vendor relationships to ensure product quality and security, adhering to loss prevention policies.
* Allocate resources effectively, monitor and optimize financial performance of the Retail / Campus Store.
* Monitor profit margins, inventory turns, and other benchmarks; report to the Director.
* Coordinate and update marketing, communication, and operational plans annually.
* Assist in preparing and updating budgets and operational plans, including goal setting and cost projections.
* Ensure security of retail goods and POS accuracy at checkout.
* Organize year-end inventory counts and reconcile sales, deposits, and financial data.
* Provide leadership and support to staff and student employees, fostering growth and collaboration.
* Manage HR activities such as recruitment, performance management, and compliance with agreements.
* Work with the Director to develop strategic plans for course materials aligned with retail and College goals.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* 3-year college diploma or university degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
* Experience in marketing or entrepreneurial initiatives with stakeholders.
* Strong sales and negotiation skills.
* Operational leadership experience.
* Financial accounting and analysis skills.
* Knowledge of Course Material / Retail POS systems, including Bookware.
* Experience working in a post-secondary environment with staff, students, and senior leaders.
