Title: Project Manager
Type: Full-Time/Exempt
Reports to: Division Supervisor/Division Manager
Essential Functions:
* Supervises a team of General Forepersons and their crews, responsible for administration, communication, enforcement of policies, quality and safety standards, employee relations, and union agreements if applicable.
* Collaborates with Human Resources on employment matters including hiring, discipline, separations, leaves of absence, and policy enforcement.
* Interviews potential candidates, follows proper hiring procedures, and understands Form I-9 and interviewing techniques.
* Promotes positive employee relations and manages conflicts fairly, working with Human Resources.
* Participates in safety and drug testing training, understanding obligations related to reasonable suspicion.
* Trains, coaches, and evaluates employee performance, providing feedback as needed.
* Conducts safety training sessions, stand downs, and tailgate trainings as applicable.
* Manages daily production tasks, maintains records, and reports on work completed, crew performance, and incidents.
* Investigates accidents, damage claims, and may settle minor claims.
* Controls crew costs through effective manpower and equipment use.
* Stays informed on new equipment, practices, and procedures.
* Maintains professional communication with customers, property owners, contractors, utilities, and agencies.
* Follows all company manuals and policies, including safety protocols.
* Works around hazardous equipment and energized lines, wearing proper PPE.
* Exposed to weather, nature, insects, dust, and rough terrain.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
* Strong leadership skills, ability to handle stress and multitask.
* Basic knowledge of trees, arboricultural techniques, and ANSI standards.
* Understanding of OSHA regulations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and circuit map reading.
* Professional communication skills.
* Enforces safety practices and wears PPE.
* Able to work in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 pounds, and work long hours including emergencies.
* Valid driver’s license (CDL), medical card, and ability to pass drug and background checks.
* ISA Certification, herbicide certification/license, First-Aid, and CPR cards.
