The Flight Physics Centre of Competence (CoC) is a German-Spanish organisation within Airbus Defence & Space (AD&S) Engineering. The organisation is responsible for the flight physics deliverables for all Airbus Defence & Space fixed‐wing aircraft programmes. The technical capabilities within the CoC are provided by five domains:
Aerodynamics
Aircraft Performance & Mass Properties
Static Loads, Structural Dynamics & Acoustics
Flight Dynamics & Flight Control Laws
The CoC has strategic targets such as digitalisation, standardisation, simplification, and operational excellence.

As an Aircraft Performance Engineer, you report to the Head of Aircraft Performance and will be accountable for the aircraft performance-related deliverables for all AD&S fixed‐wing programmes.
Competences and Operational Accountability
Be accountable for aircraft performance activities that contribute to current and future programmes as well as R&D/T, the certification process and negotiations with certification authorities.
Support the design phase in future programmes and derivatives of existing products.
Evaluate the impact on performance of aircraft & engine configuration changes
Commercial, Customer and Ops. support:
Carry out performance studies to support sales campaigns and RFPs, customer enquiries.
Support AD&S customer services flight operations for operational tools and documentation, computerized operating data solutions, in‐service queries and technical support.
Support flight data analysis activities for development, certification, training, incident/accident investigations, etc.
Implement roadmaps for harmonisation & maintenance of tools, data management, marketing of Aircraft Performance services, etc.
Implement the Flight Physics strategy, develop and grow the service portfolio.
Ensure the highest standards in quality and clarity of technical dossier content and presentation.
Ensure implementation of digitalisation, capability & technology roadmaps while ensuring R&D and Program delivery OTOCOQ.
Contribute to team and programme transversal activities and synergies.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Aircraft Performance processes.
Have strong communication, collaboration and conflict management skills, able to communicate and present effectively within the team and other stakeholders within and outside the Flight Physics Centre of Competence.
Have demonstrated problem‐solving and organisational skills.
Be customer focused. Inspire confidence and credibility with internal and external customers and anticipate their needs.
Skills & Experience
Minimum Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in Aircraft Performance (development, flight test and certification).
Passion for continuous improvement.
Willingness to roll‐up sleeves and do whatever is necessary; owner mentality.
Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
Ability to work under pressure.
Able to travel as required.
English skills at negotiation level, German/Spanish skills preferred.
