Offer Description
We are looking for a trades engineer for the DS4Skills project for the UOC Trades Office.
The objective of the job is to participate in the definition and processing of data linked to both the learning processes of the UOC and the European labor market in order to anonymize them, make them synthetic or standardize them so that they can be shared with other institutions within the DS4Skills project.
What will be your functions?
* Identify, within the UOC's information platform (based on the snowflake engine), data of interest for the DS4Skills project and also the working groups of the data practice community that are working with these data.
* Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with privacy regulations, such as data processing processes to anonymize or convert data into synthetic data.
* Provide support in the development of data models for the development of visualizations and reports on processed data.
* Document the work performed and provide reports and documents for the DS4Skills project.
* Audit and monitor the data processed and submit reports to facilitate their validation prior to sharing.
* Ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency through quality controls and automation and standardization processes.
* Collaborate with other data engineers, data analysts and information architects to understand needs and provide data solutions appropriate to the project.
* Configure federated data access components such as Prometheus-x community data space technologies.
It will be a temporary employment contract of 24 months, full time and with the expectation of incorporation in September.
The physical location will be the UOC campus, located at Rambla del Poblenou, 154-156, in Barcelona. However, at the UOC we work with an open work model that combines teleworking and face-to-face, depending on organizational needs and the nature of the tasks.
* Experience in the use of the SnowFlake tool.
* Experience in the development with data visualization (BI) tools, such as PowerBI, Tableau or Qlik.
* Knowledge of the EdTech world (Education + Technology), preferably in the context of higher education.
* Knowledge of data sets in the world of work or job skills. For example ESCO, LightCast or other.
* Experience in the development and deployment of software components in docker containers.
* Knowledge of European data spaces and their implementation with technologies such as Prometheus-x or Gaia-x.
Specific Requirements
What type of profile are we looking for?
* Computer engineering or technical or mathematical degree with accredited ICT skills and at least 3 years of experience as a data engineer.
* Intermediate programming level, with knowledge and experience in Python or similar languages.
* Experience in defining and creating analytical data models.
* Experience in the development of data transformation and profiling processes.
* Experience in the design and exploitation of relational data (SQL).
* Experience in the use of integration mechanisms via API, webservices, and data formats such as JSON, XML, etc.
* Experience in project coordination and supervision.
* Ability to communicate and express yourself orally and in writing, in Spanish, Catalan and English.
* Ability to work as part of a team, in multidisciplinary groups and with a willingness to experiment and research.
