Overview
Applicants are invited for appointment as a Research Officer in the Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine. The position commences as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with potential renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities
* Plan and execute basic, clinical, and translational research in the area of liver cancer and liver transplantation.
* Prepare scientific publications, grant proposals, and reports.
* Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of research experience in oncology, cellular and molecular biology, animal experiments, and next generation sequencing.
* Experience in liver cancer and liver transplantation is advantageous.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
* Track record of high-quality research demonstrated by publications and research grants.
* Well organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.
Benefits
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The fixed-term contract provides a contract-end gratuity and a University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits may be provided as applicable.
