About BSC: The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and hosts multi-disciplinary research in HPC environments.
Context And Mission
Applications are invited for an activity leader in High Performance Computing (HPC) architectures at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), focusing primarily on hardware integration task. DARE is a three year project funded by the EU. The project will design high-performance computing architectures based on the RISC-V ISA.
Key Duties
* Lead the Integration team: assign tasks and deadlines to the members of the team and evaluate their performance.
* Coordinate the exchange of high-level specifications and the delivery of BSC IP with external partners.
* Coordinate with other teams the integration of internal modules into final systems.
Requirements
* Education
* Degree in Computer Science (or similar)
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
* Microarchitecture design and implementation, especially top-level integration of complex systems-on-chip.
* Experience with Hardware Description Languages.
* Experience with version control systems and with their use in collaborative environments.
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
* Elements of Computer Architecture such as multicore systems and cache hierarchies.
* Competences
* Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines pressure.
* Ability to work independently and in a team.
* Ability to interact and build strong relations with other teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Conditions
* The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department

* Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration

* Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona
* Starting date: 16/12/2025

Recruitment Process
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system (Concurso-Oposición). The recruitment process consists of two phases: Curriculum Analysis (40 points) and Interview phase (60 points). A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible. The panel will be gender-balanced and include at least one technical and one administrative interview, plus a personality questionnaire and a technical exercise.
