We are looking for aGround & Operations Senior Systems Enginee with the mission to lead end-to-end operational architecture, execution, and security of the satellite communication system's ground segment and satellite control (including LEO telecommunication constellations as BeetleSat).
Tasks to be performed:
1. Operational Strategy & Governance
•Defineandexecutetheoperational concept(CONOPS) for telecommunication programs (including LEO telecommunication constellations) across space, ground, and user segments.
• Ensurealignmentwithprogrammatic objectives, regulatoryframeworks, and internationalstandards.
•Leadoperational readinessreviews ,service validation, and fulllifecycle operationsmanagement.
2. Ground Segment Management
•Overseethedesign ,development ,integration ,verificationandvalidation, and daily operation of all ground infrastructure, including:
-Satellite control centers (SCCs)
-TT&C; stations
-Ground gateways and data centers
•Coordinatesystemengineeringin ground segment andoperations activitieswithcustomers ,partners, andsubcontractors.
•Ground Segmentinterfacedefinitionand system verification & validation activities
•Leadtheproductionby the team of all technicaldeliverableson ground segment and manage projecttimelines ,budgets, andresourcesto meet milestones and deliverables.
•Ensureseamlesscoordinationbetween hardware, software, and mission-critical IT systems.
3. Operations Control & Execution
•Direct satellite operationsincluding LEOP, in-orbit testing (IOT), maneuver planning, and anomaly resolution.
•Leadthe real-timecommand ,telemetry, and healthmonitoringof satellites and related systems.
•Establishrobust shiftoperations, on-call protocols, and escalation paths.
•Drivethedevelopment ,maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of operational tools, automation processes, and mission databases.
•Consolidateand present fleet-levelreports ,summarizingsatellite health, subsystemperformance ,anomalies, and operational KPIs to internal stakeholders and management.
•Lead knowledge transferefforts across satellite missions and generations, promoting internaldocumentation ,standardization, andbest practices.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:•Master's degreeinAerospace Engineering ,TelecommunicationsEngineering, or equivalent.
• Professional certifications (ITIL, CISSP, PMP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
•*****+years of experience insatellite ground systemsandoperations.
• Proven track record inground segment architecture ,mission operations, andcommunications.
• Proficiency inoperational toolssuch as SCOS-****, EPOCH, or similar mission control systems.
• Familiarity withECSS standards ,satellite telemetry protocols, andhigh-availability system design.
•Strategic thinkerwith a high level of operational discipline.
• Decisive under pressure, with strongcrisis managementcapabilities.
• Skilled inproject coordinationandstakeholder engagement.
• Technically fluent withmission-critical systemsandoperational security.
• Eligible for or holding higher-level security clearance.
• Experience managingclassified systemsandsecure ops environments.
The position islocated inour Headquarters ofTorrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).
The candidate must be eligible to work in the EU and must be able to travel to the US.
