Time To Grow is an Executive Search firm specialized in FMCG. On this occasion, we are leading the search for a Senior Category Manager on behalf of our client, General Mills .
General Mills is one of the world's leading food (FMCG) companies, with a portfolio of iconic brands such as Häagen-Dazs, Old El Paso, and Nature Valley. Its Category team in Iberia is looking to bring on board the go-to expert for category and brand matters in the Hub — owning the vision, building the plan, and driving execution across all channels, reporting directly to the Head of Category.
🔹 ABOUT THE ROLE The selected candidate will work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to deliver winning strategies for General Mills' brands, acting as the category vision ambassador and leading with insights to unlock sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own the category and brand growth agenda for Iberia, defining priorities and leading plans that deliver sustainable and profitable growth.
- Act as the category lead within the organization, translating business ambition into clear strategies and actionable commercial plans.
- Develop category and brand plans across the full marketing mix: innovation, assortment, pricing, promotions, distribution, and merchandising.
- Turn market, shopper, customer, and competitive insights into clear recommendations and growth-driving actions.
- Partner closely with Sales to build winning customer strategies and support strong execution across channels.
- Collaborate with Marketing to deliver compelling 360º consumer and shopper activation, in-store and in e-commerce.
- Co-lead Joint Category Planning, translating category priorities into customer-facing plans with clear growth opportunities.
- Lead regular business reviews, identifying performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, and turning them into focused action plans.
- Drive strategic initiatives in pricing, trade efficiency, and Net Revenue Management to boost competitiveness and maximize ROI.
- Manage the brand budget with discipline, focusing resources on the highest-impact opportunities.
- Align and influence cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply, and Revenue Management.
🔹 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of experience in Category Management, Brand Management, or Trade Marketing (FMCG preferred).
- Strong understanding of P&L; drivers: assortment, pricing, promotions, and distribution.
- Experience collaborating with Sales and customers, including joint business planning.
- Proven ability to turn data and insights into actionable growth strategies.
- Hands-on experience in shopper activation across retail and e-commerce.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.
- Passion for food, brands, and building winning categories.
