Role OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Compliance Officer to work in a truly global environment to support EDamp;F Man’s global Coffee and Liquid Products business units, reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring activities comply with applicable rules and regulations. You will support the day-to-day trading activities of the business and develop and advise on policies, processes, and procedures. You will also have an opportunity to provide ongoing compliance training to the business working with various functions across the business to support the development and implementation of compliance projects. We are passionate about sustainable production, take care to limit the environmental impact of our operations and actively support the communities in which we work.Key AccountabilitiesSupport the implementation of EDamp;F Man’s global compliance program across the businessUndertake risk assessments to identify key compliance risk and required mitigationMonitor compliance with internal policies and international regulationsMonitor communications to ensure compliance with policies and lawsProvide the business with regular compliance guidance in relation to high-risk trading activityProvide ongoing compliance training to the business covering internal policies and external lawsSupport the central compliance function and the business with counterparty KYC activities including understanding of how sanctions risks can be identified and mitigated and in key markets in which the business operatesIdentify compliance issues across the business and reporting them to the Chief Compliance Officer and working towards their rectificationReview marketing materials and external presentations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsSupport the central compliance team by gathering information relevant to the businessWork with Internal Audit on fraud or related investigations relating to our coffee and liquid products business unitsManage compliance related SpeakUP investigations relevant to our coffee and liquid products business unitsSupport various compliance projects implemented across the businessConsistently engage with the businesses trading and leadership teams to ensure compliance remains a top priorityProvide compliance support and advice to the trading business covering both financial and physical tradingAdvising on and monitoring compliance with policies and regulations including MiFid, REMIT, EMIR, MAR and Dodd FrankMonitor market abuse, anti-trust, and sanctions complianceMonitor OTC and exchange trading activity to ensure compliance with rules and local regulatory requirementsSkills and ExperienceConsiderable and direct trading compliance experience working for a physical commodities trading house - essentialKnowledge of UK, US, EU and other international compliance regulations applicable to commodity trading - essentialExperience of providing compliance advice and guidance to traders - essentialDegree in law or economics – highly advantageousExperience in being part of developing a compliance program and monitoring compliance performanceExceptional stakeholder leading and influencing skillsExcellent communication and relationship building experienceHigh ethical standardsCritical problem-solving skillsAbility to make informed decisions quicklyWe recognise that talent comes in many forms, and we value potential just as much as experience.
