We are expanding our team of commissioning experts and are seeking to hire an Electrical Commissioning Lead in the Datacentre industry. You will play an integral role in the lead out of commissioning activities. We are hiring in Portugal, Denmark, Spain and Germany.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing level 1‑level 5 commissioning test documents.
- Develop QA/QC documents for the Vendor OSM equipment and the onsite utility equipment.
- Prepare a sequential schedule to ensure all QA/QC inspections and commissioning testing are carried out efficiently.
- Document lessons learned and continually update QA/QC, commissioning and procedural documents.
- Participate and support where required throughout all commissioning levels including pre‑construction planning of the projected scope of work.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support complete commissioning and performance acceptance testing of the electrical infrastructure systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations throughout the commissioning process.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on commissioning progress and addressing any issues or concerns.
- Assist with vendor coordination and management.
- Support and perform design specification review, manufacturer submittals, one line drawing sets, and project schedule documentation.
- Oversee and participate in Functional performance testing (FPT) of client electrical systems.
- Oversee and participate in the execution of test scripts to confirm equipment and system operation to design specification.
- Responsible for ensuring installation complies with local codes and national standards.
- Non‑Conformance Recording: Record instances of non‑conformance and punch list items, providing detailed documentation and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the commissioning process.
- Conduct facility walk‑downs, turnover, and punch list reviews.
- General understanding of LEED specifications and requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience in similar commissioning roles for major high‑tech construction projects.
- Professional certification in commissioning (e.g., CCP, QCxP) is a plus.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Knowledge of data centre operations and infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of Data centre Commissioning (levels 0‑6).
- Excellent verbal, electronic and written communication skills; ability to act as interface between disciplines, engineers and contractors.
- Understanding of equipment and system electrical schematics, specifications and drawings and ability to identify field discrepancies for resolution.
- Knowledge of MV and LV switchgear, Transformers, ATS, UPS etc.
- Knowledge of electrical trend analysis.
- Understanding of the sequence of construction and commissioning activities.
- Strong knowledge required in local and national codes, construction drawings/symbols, and accepted industry standards/practices.
- Strong experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
