Back in 2015, we found a way to make sports fuels easier to tolerate: by encapsulating carbohydrates in hydrogels. This method was so successful, that today, most of the world's best marathoners, cyclist and triathletes are fueling their training sessions and competitions with our technology.

The company has operations via subsidiaries in Sweden, in the US (biggest market so far), in Germany, UK, Benelux, France and Iberia. The products are distributed via exclusive distributors in Japan, in Mexico, in New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Africa and in Australia.
The Iberia market transitioned from a distributor model to in-house in the second half of 2024. The group’s strategy is to stay focused on a network of independent specialist shops with a high level of service and attention to the client and its specific needs.
About the position
As the Head of Sales in Iberia, you will be responsible for driving the brand forward in the whole territory through events and sponsorships. You will have to stay close to your community of athletes and sports enthusiasts as well as share their knowledge of the specificities of the Spanish and Portuguese markets. As part of the wider commercial team, you will also contribute to the development and success of Maurten.com by providing market intelligence and insights.
Job responsibilities
As the Head of Sales, you will have to:
* Be responsible for the strategy to activate the brand on the Iberia market: identify relevant athletes and events to sponsor
* Lead and manage a small team to cover the territory and maintain and develop the network of retailers
* Gather the main retailers at these events to maintain a close relationship with them
* Define the prices policy and the sales strategy in cooperation with the Head of Sales & GTM - Europe
* Be the brand’s ambassador at various sportive events that are sponsored (trail, marathon, cycling race, triathlon…), even on weekends
* Work with the Maurten e-comm team to expand the visibility of the e-shop, set up the pricing strategy on the internet, with a focus on making synergies with the physical distribution
* Help identify talent to represent Maurten through either the Ambassador program or sports marketing in the Iberia market.
This is who you are:
As the Head of Sales, you must be connected to the sports industry either through your practice or through your professional experience. We are looking for someone with a positive and resilient mindset with a diplomatic approach and a strong interest in endurance sports. You are able to provide service and add value to the retailers with an entrepreneur’s state of mind.
You will also present the following characteristics:
* Ideally a graduate with at least 5 to 10 years’ experience of the wholesale sports
* industry
* Marketing sensitivity to fully understand the consumer’s needs on the Spanish & Portuguese markets and set up the relevant strategy to address them
* Pragmatic and transparent approach
* Good command of English (written and oral)
* Based in Barcelona area with some travel (20% of the time)
