The Opportunity
As a
BDC Consultant / Engagement Architect, you will play a key role in helping customers unlock the full potential of the
SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC)
by ensuring clean, connected, and trusted data foundations. You will work at the intersection of
data strategy, architecture, and technology, connecting
data management
and
data consumption
in end-to-end customer scenarios.
What You will Do
Deliver customer projects in BDC, with a focus on data management, data integration, and data quality.
Design and implement technical architectures for SAP Business Data Cloud, including integration with SAP Datasphere, SAP BW/4HANA, and other data platforms.
Help optimize tooling and methodologies for BDC adoption and migration projects, ensuring efficient, scalable, and consistent delivery.
Deliver technical project execution — from data extraction and transformation design to validation, testing, and go-live support.
Lead or support customer workshops to validate data integration and provision designs, explain technical implementation approaches, and align with business objectives.
Document best practices and methodologies, contributing to internal knowledge assets and enabling scaling through peer onboarding and mentoring.
Collaborate closely with DMLT experts and other SAP teams to ensure seamless data transformation and migration into the BDC landscape.
Function as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through all project phases – from solution design and planning to execution and enablement.
Continuously enhance and refine delivery approaches, best practices, and accelerators for BDC data integration, transformation, and management.
What You Bring
Content Focus (ideally 3-5 topics mentioned below):
3–5 years of technical experience
in SAP consulting delivery or as a native developer, ideally within complex data migration, transformation, or landscape optimization projects.
Technical and Solution Knowledge:
3+ years of experience with the BTP and/or BDC
solution portfolio.
Architecture guidance : Navigate
multi‑cloud
and heterogeneous SAP/non‑SAP estates and guide design decisions for interoperability, resilience, and governance.
Hands on Experience: Functional Hands‑On Knowledge in
SAP Datasphere Replication Flows, Data Flows, Transformation Flows
and basic Data Modelling as well as experience in classic ERP, S/4HANA and SAP BW environments and data extraction technologies (SLT, ODP, CDS Views).
Programming,
Scripting and CLI : Knowledge of at least one relevant scripting language (Python, NodeJS). Classic ABAP Development experience including design and development of ABAP CDS Views and hands‑on knowledge in Datasphere CLI is a strong plus.
Strong understanding of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA data models, particularly in the context of consolidation, harmonization, or transformation.
Business acumen
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business value.
High customer focus and result orientation, paired with a collaborative mindset, self‑motivation, and proactive networking.
Fluency in English
(spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.
Willingness to travel
(10–30%) within your region or internationally.
Experience working in
international, cross‑functional teams
and multicultural environments is a plus.
