JUNIOR SPACE SATELLITE OPERATIONS ENGINEER

We´re expanding our team at Alén Space, and are looking for a Junior Space Satellite Operations Engineer; with passion in what you do, talented and experienced; to lead our Mission Control Center team and help build the future of space technology.
What you will be doing?
1. Ongoing monitoring and operations planning for in-orbit LEO satellites and payloads.
2. Design and preparation of operations for various missions.
3. Preparation of procedures and sequences for satellite platforms and payloads.
4. Telemetry analysis to monitor the health of constellations, satellites, payloads, etc.
5. Preparation and execution of LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and commissioning campaigns.
6. Preparation and execution of routine and contingency operations.
7. Support for final on-ground testing of satellites.
8. Collaboration with the software team to develop and test new tools.
9. Evolution of satellite operation manuals and procedures.
10. Collaboration with the systems engineering team for new mission design and platform evolution.
11. Interaction with customers and other stakeholders such as launch providers and ground station networks.
What do we need in our team
The individual must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
12. Knowledge of common spacecraft architecture and subsystems.
13. Some experience in LEO small satellite operations, design, and/or AIV.
14. Knowledge of STK (Systems Tool Kit).
15. Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
16. Ability to stay calm under pressure (real-time/console operations).
17. Methodical and comfortable following established procedures.
Valuable knowledge:
18. Experience with cubesat platforms and/or subsystems.
19. Experience with ECSS Packet Utilization Standard services.
20. Knowledge of ECSS and/or CCSDS standards.
21. Knowledge/experience with ground stations and ground station networks.
22. Hands-on experience in real-time operations and operations planning.

23. Work remotely 40 % of the time
24. Flexible start/finish times; reduced intensive working hours on Fridays and in summer Monday to Friday.
