About the role :
This leadership position is responsible for delivering complex technological transformation initiatives in the payments industry, while optimizing portfolio value through effective resource allocation and investment prioritization. The role combines portfolio management based on MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) principles with project delivery following PMI standards and Agile frameworks.
Your responsibilities :
* Lead complex PayRetailers IT projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with domain leads and other technical and business stakeholders.
* Implement a flexible governance framework that bridges Agile and Waterfall approaches, standardizing delivery while maintaining agility and compliance.
* Manage project dependencies between Agile and Waterfall teams, synchronizing sprint cycles with waterfall phases and key milestones for seamless integration.
* Establish portfolio governance, directing portfolio balancing and optimization to maximize business value and predictability.
* Develop portfolio metrics and executive dashboards to communicate progress, ROI, risk exposure, and resource utilization.
* Perform capacity planning, optimizing specialized skill utilization while maintaining project momentum and quality.
* Lead stakeholder management across business units, partners, and technology teams. Communicate effectively in English and Spanish to ensure clear collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage portfolio budgets using fixed Waterfall funding and variable Agile capacity models.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and implementing actions to enhance efficiency and value delivery.
* Guide teams through methodology transitions, mentoring project managers in hybrid practices and fostering knowledge sharing across teams.
* Lead M&A technology integration programs and platform consolidation initiatives.
* Engage with Domain Leads and key stakeholders in IT and business, managing matrix teams across geographies, and driving organizational change management using best practices such as Prosci.
About you :
* 10+ years of experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Proficient in project and portfolio management methodologies, with expertise in planning, stakeholder management, and communication.
* Experience with project management tools, preferably JIRA Software – Atlassian suite.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to challenges.
* Experience working with global, multicultural teams across different time zones.
* Fluent in English and Spanish (C1 level or higher) is required.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
