We are seeking an experienced EHS Subject Matter Expert with 10–15+ years of expertise in Occupational Health & Safety, incident management, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The idóneo candidate will possess deep knowledge of OSHA (US), HSE (UK), and EU Directives, with industry experience in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, or Pharmaceuticals. The role will drive the design and continuous improvement of digital EHS solutions by translating business and regulatory requirements into detailed functional specifications for product and engineering teams. The SME will define workflows, business rules, validation logic, use cases, acceptance criteria, and domain data models to support development of incident management, audit, inspection, compliance, and risk management modules.

Requirements
- 5+ years in Occupational Health & Safety / EHS roles
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in incident management and risk frameworks
- Deep knowledge of EU Directives, OSHA (US), and HSE (UK)
- Hands-on experience in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, or Pharmaceuticals
- Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor (preferred)
- Strong understanding of safety management systems, audit/inspection frameworks, and compliance workflows
- Ability to translate domain knowledge into product requirements
- Ability to work in Agile / product engineering environments
- Familiarity with EHS software platforms (e.g., Cority, Sphera) and data-driven digital platforms
Nice to have
- Exposure to digital transformation in EHS
- Exposure to IoT / connected worker solutions, and AI/analytics in safety
- Experience contributing to domain ontologies and standardization initiatives
Responsibilities
- Act as the authoritative SME for Occupational Health & Safety, Incident & Accident Management, and Risk Assessment & Mitigation (HIRA, JSA, BowTie, etc.), translating domain knowledge into scalable product features, workflows, and data models
- Interpret and operationalize EU Directives, OSHA (US), and HSE (UK) regulations, ensuring the platform supports multi-jurisdictional compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering on specs and use cases, design incident, audit, inspection, and risk modules, shape domain ontology and canonical data models, and provide inputs into workflow design, business rules, and validation logic
- Define best practices for incident classification and investigation, root cause analysis (e.g., 5-Why, TapRooT), and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), while supporting the development of risk scoring models and leading/lagging indicators
- Work with customers (EHS leaders, safety officers), implementation teams, and sales & pre-sales as a domain expert, while validating product features against real-world operational scenarios
- Define acceptance criteria and test scenarios, and participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and regulatory validation reviews
- Bring contextual expertise across Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Pharmaceuticals, ensuring product applicability across asset-heavy and regulated industries
