About Our Client
A pharmaceutical company undergoing significant growth and international expansion is looking to hire a Purchasing Director to lead the procurement strategy for its production plant in Spain.
Job Description
Define and implement medium- and long-term purchasing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Negotiate with national and international suppliers, ensuring optimal conditions in terms of cost, quality, lead times, and service.
Establish purchasing policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate the approval of new suppliers in collaboration with Quality and Regulatory Affairs.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
Oversee purchasing planning and the management of strategic inventories.
Lead and develop the purchasing team.
Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, R&D, Quality, and Finance departments.
The Successful Applicant
University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field. A master's in Supply Chain Management or an MBA is a plus.
At least 8-10 years of experience in senior procurement roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or life sciences sectors.
Deep understanding of GMP regulatory frameworks and other relevant pharmaceutical industry standards.
High level of English (minimum C1); other languages are a plus.
Excellent negotiation, leadership, and team management skills.
Strong results orientation, strategic vision, and analytical ability.
