Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist to join our growing R&D team and contribute to the development of next-generation liquid biopsy and AI-enabled diagnostic solutions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in biomarker discovery, genomic data analysis, assay development and translational research, working at the intersection of molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence to advance innovative products with real-world clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead biomarker discovery and translational research projects involving genomic, epigenomic and fragmentomic analyses.
· Analyse and interpret NGS-derived datasets to identify and validate clinically relevant biomarkers.
· Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines, statistical analyses and biomarker performance assessments.
· Contribute to the integration of genomic, clinical and imaging data within AI-driven diagnostic solutions.
· Generate scientific reports, data visualizations and technical documentation to support product development and decision-making.
· Collaborate with academic, clinical and industrial partners in national and European research projects.
· Contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, intellectual property generation and grant applications.
· Mentor junior researchers and support the growth of a collaborative and innovative research environment.
Required Qualifications
· PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Computational Oncology or a related scientific discipline.
· Experience in genomics research, molecular diagnostics or biomarker development.
· Experience working with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and genomic datasets.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
· Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in liquid biopsy technologies, circulating biomarkers (cfDNA, ctDNA) and translational research in oncology, genomics and precision medicine.
· Strong knowledge of NGS analysis pipelines, bioinformatics workflows and variant interpretation.
· Experience using R and/or Python for the analysis of genomic, epigenomic and fragmentomic datasets, including SNVs, indels, CNVs and methylation biomarkers.
· Experience applying machine learning or AI approaches to biomedical or multi-omics data.
· Familiarity with cloud-based computing environments and scalable bioinformatics infrastructures.
· Experience in veterinary genomics, oncology, neurology or related biomedical research fields is desirable.
· Scientific publication record and strong scientific communication skills
