Job Summary
Senior Global Category Manager: Real estate leases, facility services and utilities This role manages facilities procurement activities on a global level, fosters adaptation of procurement policy, develops category-specific processes, and leads sustainability and diversity-related procurement activities with key facility suppliers. The Senior Global Category Manager for Facilities works in close collaboration with facility and sustainability stakeholders and with regional strategic procurement teams.
Responsibilities
- Define, drive and implement facility sourcing category strategy or renew strategic sourcing category management plans.
- Identify key stakeholders; collaborate, advise and influence in a matrix organization.
- Identify business requirements; work with stakeholders to define supplier requirements.
- Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and negotiate contractual terms with potential suppliers.
- Support strategic vendor qualification process.
- Carry out category spend, market and product analysis required for category profiling.
- Lead Category Councils worldwide involving local procurement teams.
- Develop and execute an optimal sourcing strategy for the managedFacilities categories (Real estate leases, facility services and utilities).
- Lead contractual discussions with suppliers within the portfolio of managed categories.
- Ensure spend cube accuracy for managed categories.
- Assess supplier proposals using Total Cost of Ownership, considering SLAs and supplier ESG readiness.
- Set up KPIs and monitor service levels to ensure compliance and uninterrupted availability.
- Work with business stakeholders to build consensus and alignment for sourcing and procurement projects; advise and influence in a matrix organization.
- Manage costs (should-cost models, cost reductions, value creation) and drive savings.
- Set rules of engagement with divisions/country organizations regarding scope and compliance for managed categories.
- Support Global Head of Indirect Procurement with category-specific analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Business, Economics, Supply Chain or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience as Facility Category Manager or Vendor Manager with led sourcing projects at regional or global level. Preferred experience in airport and logistics-related applications (not mandatory).
- Proven track record in delivering year-to-year cost savings, driving cost reduction and supporting transformation projects. Excellent negotiating skills and understanding of contractual terms.
- Strong process and project management experience, analytical skills.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage category processes and cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
- Ability to work with key stakeholders in a multicultural environment at various levels.
- Hands-on, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
- Business-level English (written and spoken) is a must; additional languages are an advantage.
