Associate Director
IE University

It produces impact-oriented research on emerging technologies like AI, Big Data, Blockchain, and Robotics, and explores their societal effects.
The CGC also runs executive programs on emerging tech for institutions and companies, and outreach activities to raise public awareness about technological changes, aiming to build a sustainable society.

The position
The Associate Director for Sovereign Wealth Research will manage the Sovereign Wealth Research (SWR) Project and develop the SWF SDG Impact Initiative. Reporting to the Director of SWR, the role involves managing staff, collaborating with partners, and overseeing project delivery. The position is based at IE Tower in Madrid.
Responsibilities
Key Action Areas
* Support the design and coordination of the SWR project with UN, IF SWF, and Spanish government on SDG Impact Investing.
* Manage daily project activities and ensure successful delivery.
* Build relationships with partners, assess needs, and identify collaboration opportunities.
* Design the SDG Project Investment Vehicle.
* Lead data collection on SWF deals using sources like Bloomberg, Crunchbase, PitchBook, and social media.
* Supervise research assistants and interns involved in SWR research.
* Support presentations and media engagements.
* Coordinate event management in Madrid and other locations.
* Assist with communication and resource mobilization efforts.
* Support reporting, budgeting, and auditing processes.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and perform related functions.
Qualifications
Requirements
* Master’s degree from a top-ranked university preferred.
* Fluent in English and ideally Spanish; additional languages like Chinese, Arabic, Hindi are a plus.
* At least 3 years of professional experience.
* Proven project management skills.
* Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
* Experience or knowledge of sovereign wealth funds is a strong advantage.
* Experience in consultancy, multilateral organizations, or investment banking is a plus.
* International experience is beneficial.
* Enthusiasm, teamwork, and impact-driven mindset.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* EU citizenship or valid EU work permit required.
