** Freelance opportunity ** Start Date: ASAP Length of contract: 6 months Schedule: 40 hour per week Location: Madrid, onsite in Madrid 2/3 days per week Title: Senior System Administrator Role Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to lead the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing management of Microsoft 365 technologies across the organisation. This role is critical in supporting a growing infrastructure function, driving modern endpoint management (Intune, Autopilot, Defender), and ensuring a secure, compliant environment as our client rolls out a new Information Security Management System (ISMS). Due to an expanding workload and a significant pipeline of infrastructure and security initiatives, our client requires a contractor to come on board straight away Key Responsibilities Microsoft 365 Implementation & Tenant Management Design, implement, and manage Microsoft 365 environments, including: Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) Windows Autopilot Microsoft Defender suite (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps) Develop and maintain M365 tenant architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Configure policies for device compliance, application deployment, and endpoint security. Infrastructure & Network Support Support the Infrastructure Team Lead in delivering critical network projects, including: SD-WAN implementation Global VPN deployment and optimisation Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and connectivity issues across distributed environments. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure high availability and performance. Required Experience & Skills Technical Expertise Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft Intune (configuration, policies, deployment) Windows Autopilot (device provisioning and lifecycle) Microsoft Defender suite Proven track record managing and optimising M365 tenants Experience managing and troubleshooting M365 licensing Networking Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing) Experience troubleshooting enterprise network issues Exposure to SD-WAN and global VPN solutions (implementation or support)
