About the Role
Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is seeking a passionate Restaurant Sous Chef to join our team. Reporting to the Restaurant Chef, the Sous Chef plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently, maintaining high-quality food production, and preparing for successful service, assisting the Head Chef.
What You Will Do
* Managing a designated area of the kitchen, and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
* Supervising kitchen staff and ensuring smooth communication and collaboration among team members.
* Work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation.
* Supports the head chef in menu planning, kitchen organization, and operational tasks, such as managing schedules and overseeing food safety practices.
* Monitoring and managing stock levels of ingredients and supplies for their section, including ordering when necessary.
* Executing cooking techniques to prepare meals, following recipes and menu specifications.
* Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
* Ensuring that all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.
* Following all health and safety protocols in the kitchen.
* Working collaboratively with other members of the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
What You Bring
Education: Cooking school or culinary institute education required.
Experience: at least 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Skills And Abilities
* Advanced culinary knowledge is expected.
* Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage several demanding tasks in a consistently busy environment.
* Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, including knowledge of local health regulations.
* Strong leadership and management abilities to effectively oversee kitchen staff and coordinate tasks.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks during busy service periods.
* A keen eye for presentation and quality control to ensure dishes meet the outlet’s standards.
* Must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
* Passion for food.
* Ability to think quickly and resolve issues that arise in the kitchen.
* A creative mindset to contribute to menu development and enhance dish presentation.

Schedule & Hours
This is a full-time position. This role might operate on a rotating shift basis, covering morning and evening shifts throughout the week, including weekends.
