We are partnering with a large general aviation and technology group to hire an Engineering Delivery Manager to lead high-performing software engineering teams in a complex, product-led environment.
This role is ideal for a technically strong delivery leader with a background in software engineering, DevOps and modern engineering practices, who is passionate about building healthy teams, improving delivery systems and enabling sustainable flow of value.
You will act as the primary delivery accountability for one or more engineering squads, combining people leadership, delivery governance and technical credibility, while working closely with Product and Technical Leads.
Key responsibilities
- Leading and developing engineering teams, coaching leaders and fostering a high-performance, psychologically safe culture
- Acting as the first point of escalation for delivery challenges, removing blockers quickly and pragmatically
- Owning and continuously improving the system of delivery: progress tracking, delivery metrics, forecasting and reporting
- Ensuring delivery alignment, governance compliance, budget and headcount control
- Embedding agile and DevSecOps best practices with minimal reporting overhead
- Driving data-driven delivery conversations focused on risks, hotspots and improvement opportunities
- Partnering with Product and Tech Leads to align roadmaps, OKRs and delivery plans
- Supporting the organisation’s evolution towards a product-centric, DevSecOps agile delivery model
Required background and skills
- Strong experience as an Engineering Manager or Delivery Manager in fast-paced, product-led environments
- Solid technical background in software engineering with deep understanding of SDLC and engineering best practices
- Hands-on knowledge of modern engineering and DevOps tooling (Git, cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure, CI/CD, quality and security tools like SonarCloud and Snyk)
- Experience managing squads with direct reports and complex stakeholder environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across engineering, product, security and operations
