GM&E; Sales Manager - Event Planner (temporary)

As a Groups, Meetings & Events (GM&E;) Sales Manager - Event Planner, you will have the opportunity to plan large sized groups, conferences and events together with prospect or returning clients. Although no operational expertise on day of event is required in this position, the pre-organization and holistic understanding of event details required by client is key.
In close cooperation with the GM&E; Converting team as well as the pro-active Sales team, the manager contributes to overall strategy, equally driving hotel results and customer satisfaction.
**Specifically, a GM&E; Sales Manager - Event Planner will perform the following tasks to the highest standards**:
- Planning high profile events for up to 1000 attendees
- Managing room allotment for in house events and convention blocks
- Knowledge of the facilities, products and services of the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona.
- Supporting the Commercial Director, (Assistant) Director GM&E; Sales and the whole Commercial Department in maximizing Hotel revenues through upsells and cross selling with our external partners
- Leading by example for junior team members and trainees, taking a pro-active role in training and supporting them
- Adherence to Hilton and hotel policies and procedures for example in regards to timely collection of all relevant information or deposit and billing guidelines
- Conduction of hotel site inspections, pre-conference meetings and exit interviews with clients ensuring customer satisfactions in all relevant touch points of the customer journey
- Support in data collection and reporting as required
- Participation and support of sales & marketing activities, like call days or sales blitz
**What are we looking for?**
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service under time pressure
- Positive attitude and balance between commercial and customer focus
- Comfortable during negotiations and tough conversations with clients or colleagues
- Good time management and communication skills
- At least two years of experience in Groups, Meetings & Events in a hotel or similar
- Knowledge of Delphi.fdc and Hilton PMS is an advantage
- Fluent in English (Spanish and other languages are an advantage)
