Location: Madrid – Spain (Hybrid) Language: Fluent/Native Spanish and English Objective As the Senior Tax Manager, you will be part of a local and collaborative Tax team. You will work under the supervision of the Business Unit Manager, and you will be responsible for the tax relating to client companies in the allocated portfolio with a focus on a particular client sector and for supervising junior roles. Functions & Responsibilities Tax Compliance Reviews, inspects and analyzes different tax declarations Reviews for internal and external prepared tax returns Files internal or external prepared tax returns Review and control portfolio obligations as well as any other control needed Prepares or reviews clients’ tax compliance status reports Provide technical support for the Accounting and Legal departments regarding tax queries Review invoicing information Attend clients and tax advisor’s meetings or calls Supervision Manages the workload of the team, monitors the quality and quantity of the team members Control and monitoring portfolio tax compliance obligations Onboard trains team members Gives input on team performance to the BUM of the tax department Technical Competencies Understand business principles and language Including the fundamentals of tax and accounting Understand tax calculations (Withholding taxes, VAT and CIT) and tax advisors reports Understand basic financial accounting principles and information for tax purposes Understand STA procedures and different tax authorities’ regulations Ability to interpret internal and external policies and regulations Managing Risk & Compliance Ensure compliance with internal and external policies. Understand the financial implications of decisions before execution Understands budgeting and planning concepts (trends and Capital and Operational Budgets) Identifies and resolves complex accounting/tax issues Advance knowledge of tax deadlines, surcharges and penalties applicable for all tax forms Manage and control tax deadlines/submissions of the portfolio assigned Manage and control of notifications received from any authority to the portfolio assigned Manage and update census status of the portfolio assigned Provides limited local or unit oversight of the risk for client’s tax position. Understands the components and interdependencies of financial statements/reports including basic statistical relationships; examples include financial statement ratio Understands computations of taxable amounts and tax liabilities according to legal requirements. Requirements Between 5‑7 years of working experience in a similar position. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Tax law. A great command of English to speak fluently with clients (C1).
