Research technician at the Regulation of Alternative pre-mRNA Splicing during Cell Differentiation, Development and Disease laboratory
The Institute
The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed by an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team which is supported both by a adaptable and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.
The Research Technician will join an interdisciplinary team to provide technical support to studies about mechanisms of alternative pre-mRNA splicing. The tasks will include general support to the function of the group as well as specific support to projects aimed at the development of RNA therapeutic approaches based on the modulation of RNA processing.
About the lab
The Valcárcel lab has worked on molecular mechanisms of alternative splicing regulation for more than 25 years, combining biochemistry, cellular assays, transcriptomics, network reconstruction, high-throughput technologies and work in animal models. The group has participated in several collaborative European Projects and has received funding from the European Research Council, the European Innovation Council and the EU-funded H2020 Health Program.
