Overview Global Payroll Analyst role at Sage. Hybrid role in Madrid: 3 days a week in the Madrid office and 2 days from home.
Responsibilities Accurately process monthly payrolls, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, holiday pay, and deductions, fully compliant with Spanish labour laws and the Workers’ Statute (Estatuto de los Trabajadores).
Manage social security activities such as onboarding new hires, handling leavers, recording absences, contract changes, sickness cases, and processing A1 certificates.
Administer employee benefits and incentives, including meal vouchers, pension plans, and health insurance.
Calculate, file, and remit tax and social security contributions to Seguridad Social and Agencia Tributaria.
Provide clear support and answers to employee queries on payroll topics like prorrateo, paga extra, and finiquito (severance pay).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including contracts, tax information, and bank details.
Collaborate closely with People and Finance teams to ensure smooth onboarding, benefit updates, and payroll reporting.
What We’re Looking For Minimum 3 years’ experience managing payroll within a multi-country or international environment.
Deep knowledge of Spanish labour laws, tax regulations, and Seguridad Social requirements.
Proficiency with payroll systems such as SAP/GlobalView and ADP Celergo.
Strong data analysis skills, especially with Excel, to generate insightful reports and support decision-making.
Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) is essential; additional languages are a plus.
A collaborative team player who is also capable of working independently and taking initiative.
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot payroll issues.
Experience working within an Employee Service model is highly desirable.
