We are currently looking for a Category Lead Buyer for raw materials who will be responsible for securing a multi-year uninterrupted supply of selected category materials in the factories at competitive cost and quality compliance. You will develop category knowledge, work cross-functionally across responsible spend areas, and prepare, lead, and execute global strategic sourcing initiatives as agreed with the line manager, aiming to become a category expert.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for sourcing the entrusted portfolio, being a market specialist with a competitive advantage and continuous improvement by minimizing spend.
* Perform global internal and external analysis, generate local opportunity proposals, and contribute to global opportunity assessments.
* Define, lead, and successfully implement global purchasing strategies and action plans by category; negotiate with suppliers on price, quality, and delivery conditions.
* Mobilize the business to implement category plans.
* Provide the company with a competitive advantage.
* Report and explain negotiation results and their impact within the company.
* Translate feedstock and market assumptions into annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts of portfolio spend.
* Ensure up-to-date and accurate purchasing data in information systems.
* Develop the supply base to ensure capacity and flexibility to meet organizational requirements.
* Manage suppliers professionally to ensure high performance.
* Apply legal frameworks, codes, and guidelines in tenders, negotiations, and contracts.
* Lead resolution of escalated issues with suppliers.
* Set key performance indicators.
* Engage and influence stakeholders.
Requirements for this role include:
* University degree in business, finance, commercial, economics, or engineering.
* 5-6 years of experience in FMCG procurement.
* Proven ability to lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives linked to COGs and/or overhead budgets.
* Experience in global, multicultural organizations and effective collaboration across cultures and teams.
* Computer literacy in SAP and Microsoft Office.
* High proficiency in English (spoken and written).
* Strong analytical skills.
* Proactive problem-solving ability.
* Ability to work autonomously across projects and under pressure.
* Excellent project management skills and task prioritization.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
