Context and Mission : The Data Visualization and Analytics group at BSC is looking for a data scientist to work across various research lines including Industrial Data Science, Urban Data Science, Data Visualization, Data Storytelling, and Arts+Science Innovation. The role involves data gathering, cleaning, understanding, creating dashboards, initial modeling, and evaluation.
Key Duties :
Data exploration and preparation
Engaging with end users and domain experts
Designing exploratory models and pipelines
Visualizing and presenting results
Advising junior researchers and engineers
Writing reports, deliverables, and research proposals
Requirements :
Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
Experience with AI and advanced statistical models in science and industry
Proficiency in Python for ML and AI
Ability to conduct independent R&D
Additional Knowledge :
Fluency in English; Spanish and other European languages are advantageous
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Conditions : Full-time position at BSC, with flexible hours, training, health insurance, relocation support, and an open-ended contract. Starting as soon as possible, with 23 paid vacation days plus additional holidays.
