JOB PURPOSE

Are you passionate about managing end-to-end procurement for global ocean freight?

Do you have extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management, and a drive to make a direct impact on business success? If so, this role is designed for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop and implement procurement strategies for global ocean freight transportation, ensuring alignment with overall supply chain objectives.
* Manage relationships with ocean freight carriers, negotiating contracts and rates to secure the best terms and conditions.
* Monitor and analyze market trends, freight rates, and shipping capacity to make informed procurement decisions.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including logistics, supply chain, and finance teams, to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities.
* Oversee the performance of ocean freight service providers, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon service levels and addressing any issues that arise.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation within the ocean freight procurement process.
* Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in global ocean freight logistics.
* Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and other key metrics to senior management.

EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is a plus.
* Minimum of seven years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on global ocean freight.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
