Offer Description
The UIB Renal Lithiasis and Pathological Calcification Research Group is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to undertake research tasks within the framework of different projects focused on pathological calcification and, more specifically, new treatment therapies. The successful candidate will undertake the following tasks:
- Managing and leading scientific development for projects in the research group
- Designing and planning new scientific studies (in vitro and in vivo) to attain the goals on the different projects
- Critically analysing and circulating findings (writing final reports, conference papers, scientific articles, etc.)
- Taking part in in vitro and in vivo studies included in the projects.

A Degree in Chemistry and a PhD in a related field.
Specific Requirements
- Having completed specific training in animal experimentation, functions C (undertaking procedures) and D (project design and procedures) included in Royal Decree 53/2013 that sets out the core protection standards for lab animals
- Having written publications related to pathological calcification.
Language requeriments
- C1 Catalan
- B2 English.
Prior experience
- Proven experience (over five years) in research linked to pathological calcifications and in vivo studies in rat models
of vascular calcification
- Proven experience in drug development project management
- Work experience at biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies
- Work experience on drug discovery and development projects
- Letters of reference.

Eligibility criteria
• Curricular merits in the field (max. 40 points).
• Qualifications in the specialist area (max. 20 points), other (max. 5 points).
• Video curriculum and, if applicable, personal interview (max. 20 points).
• Experience in the field (max. 15 points). E.g.: > 3 years (10 points), < 3 years (5 points).
• Other merits (max. +5 points). E.g.: recommendation letters.
Eligibility threshold: 60 points.
Candidates who hold the qualification corresponding to the required category in the job offer with a non-EU degree, if selected, must present a certificate of equivalence of their non-EU qualification to a European qualification, or proof of having applied for this equivalence, in order to proceed with their hiring. ii. The supervisor (or delegated representative).
iii. The members of the Research Area Assessment Committee (CARAI).
iv. One or more expert members in the topic pertaining to the recruitment and chosen by the chair of the committee, where applicable.
v. The head of FORHU (or delegated representative), as secretary, who may speak but not vote.
