The SAP Security Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining and monitoring security controls across SAP systems to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats. This role requires hands-on experience with SAP security tools and configurations, as well as a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
We’re looking for an SAP Security Engineer to join our growing global team in Madrid and help implement, secure, and evolve the digital backbone of our enterprise. The working location for this position will be in Madrid city where we are currently setting up a new office. We operate a hybrid model, requiring at least 40% of the working time on-site.
Creating passion: your responsibilities
1. Implement, configure and maintain SAP security controls
2. Monitor SAP systems for security events, vulnerabilities and compliance with internal policies and external regulations
3. Perform regular security assessments and audits of SAP environments (e.g., S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Fiori)
4. Configure and administer SAP security tools and technologies
5. Troubleshoot and resolve SAP security-related issues, supporting incident response and forensic investigations related to SAP systems
6. Collaborate with SAP teams to ensure secure system configurations and patch management, ensuring security requirements are met
7. Assist in the deployment of SAP security tools and technologies (e.g., SAP GRC, SAP IDM, SIEM integrations)
8. Document and maintain SAP security procedures, configurations and incident reports
9. Stay informed about SAP security advisories, patches, and emerging threats
Contributing your strengths: your qualifications
10. Bachelor’s/Master’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
11. 3+ years of experience in SAP security
12. Following certificates are preferred; CISSP, CISM or SAP certifications
13. English is a Must, German and French are a plus
14. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST)
15. Solid understanding of SAP security concepts, including role-based access control (RBAC), segregation of duties (SoD), user provisioning, SOS reports
16. Experience with SAP security tools such as SAP GRC, SAP IDM or SAP Solution Manager
17. In-depth knowledge of SAP systems, including S/4HANA, ECC, and other SAP modules
18. Experience with scripting languages for automating security tasks
