THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Santander Corporate & Investing Banking is looking for a FX Corporate Sales – Financial Sponsors (Continental Europe) based out of Madrid As part of the Global Markets team, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with Financial Sponsor clients across Continental Europe, with a primary focus on Private Equity mega-funds and mid-market sponsors headquartered in Europe (ex-UK). You will deliver tailored FX solutions at the fund level, supporting cross-border investments, capital flows, and currency risk management strategies. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Building and managing senior relationships with Financial Sponsors (Private Equity and alternative asset managers), focusing on fund-level FX needs Originating and executing FX transactions linked to M&A, capital calls, fund subscriptions, distributions, and cross-border investment flows Advising clients on FX risk management strategies at the fund level, including multi-currency exposure and liquidity planning Partnering closely with Investment Banking, Financial Sponsor Coverage, and Financing teams to deliver coordinated solutions to sponsor clients Developing a deep understanding of sponsor investment strategies, fund structures, and geographic exposures to proactively identify FX opportunities Driving revenue generation through strategic engagement with key decision-makers (Partners, CFOs, Treasury teams) Providing market insights and actionable FX ideas tailored to sponsor-driven capital deployment and fundraising cycles Ensuring adherence to internal compliance, regulatory standards, and risk management frameworks WHAT YOU’LL BRING Our people are our greatest strength. Professional Experience 5–10 years of experience in FX Sales, with a strong focus on Financial Sponsors or institutional clients (Required) Proven track record covering Private Equity clients, including mega-funds and mid-market sponsors in Continental Europe (Required) Experience interacting with fund-level stakeholders (Partners, CFOs, Fund Finance / Treasury teams) (Preferred) Education Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (Required) Master’s degree or relevant financial certification (e.g., CFA) (Preferred) Languages English (Required) Additional European language (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian) (Preferred) (Preferred) Hard Skills Strong knowledge of FX products (spot, forwards, options) and their application to fund-level flows (Required) Solid understanding of Private Equity fund structures, capital deployment cycles, and cross-border investment dynamics (Required) Ability to originate and structure FX solutions aligned with fundraising, investment, and distribution activities (Preferred) Soft Skills Strong relationship-building skills with senior sponsor stakeholders Commercial mindset with a proactive and strategic approach to client coverage Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deal-driven, and highly international environment WE VALUE YOUR IMPACT Your contribution matters, and it’s recognized.
