Financial Controller Ebury Madrid Office - 4 days a week, office-based working (1 day from home office)Role The Finance team is a strong and growing part of the business. We\ 're looking for an individualwho can support and challenge us in our journey to take finance to the next level. The Financial Controller will work within the Financial Control and Reporting (FC&R;) team, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Reporting. The FC&R; team is responsible for maintaining proper accounting records both locally and at a Group level, including internal and external IFRS and local GAAP reporting, as well as reporting to the parent company, Santander. In addition, this team is responsible for complex accounting areas such as IFRS 9 and 13, IFRS 16, IAS 36, IAS 38, etc. The role will incorporate establishing and enhancing control measures and identifying opportunities for Ebury to be more efficient and effective. You will be instrumental in delivering an efficient and effective Financial Control framework across our global operations. The Finance team is a commercially focused, business partnering team, where you will work with key business control owners throughout the organisation. Oversee the implementation of effective internal controls within the various processes. Serve as the liaison between FC&R; and the internal control and internal audit functions in the business. Become an expert on the Netsuite accounting system, and act as a technical controller of Netsuite, including maintenance of controls and chart of accounts, customisation and automation projects, etc. Contribute to financial reporting, including the monthly analysis of subsidiary and/or group results, both in a performance and reviewer capacity. Manage subsidiary audits, including coordination of all auditor requests and ensuring adherence to deadlines Perform technical accounting analysis as needed; for example, determine the appropriate accounting treatment and booking models for new FX products or new accounting areas (e.G. implementation of IFRS 2)Serve as a leader on the team, to coordinate ad-hoc projects or BAU workstreams Support the development of a culture of ownership and accountability for identifying and initiating change that will improve processes, controls, and systems Proactively engage with all functional areas across Ebury\ 's general operations, and external parties, undertaking an analytical review of processes, ensuring appropriate controls are in place and advising on improvements and efficiencies to provide timely reporting to external parties. The candidate will need to effectively collaborate and employ innovative practices, to increase efficiencies both in finance as well as across the business. Finance professional with at least 7-10 years of relevant experience; Advanced proficiency inExcel and data analysis Internal controls knowledge is required Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus Have an understanding of financial services.
