Summary
The Inspector I performs basic inspection work in petroleum, petrochemical, gas, grain, oils and fats terminals and refineries; also performs inspection work on board barges and ships following industry standards and the procedures published by API, Fosfa, Gafta and Saybolt.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist other inspectors from the department and Account Managers in responsibility duties of the location.
Ensure efficient work within the location to meet client needs accurately and in time.
Work at different locations and on offshore operations as requested by the company.
Carry out port activity and sometimes offshore on high seas; develop and fulfill functions of the job description, including standby service, constituting a function of the job and carried out within the ordinary working day.
Operate at lowest possible costs while meeting safety, quality, and maintenance requirements.
Ensure full cooperation with the department and Managers on all assignments.
Follow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories, including HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code, etc.; stay updated and act accordingly.
Report directly to Inspection Account Managers.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent (general education degree).
1 year as an Inspector or related experience.
Good verbal and written knowledge of local language and English.
Proficient user of MS Office.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
All kinds of possible samplings & measurements.
Capable to perform any kind of Inspection vessel and shore with supervision of a higher level Inspector or Account Manager.
Other Information
Inspectors must have a vehicle in good, safe operating condition that can be used on the job for both personal and sample transportation in all ambient weather conditions; vehicles used for sample transportation must be able to accommodate the secondary sample containers issued for sample transportation.
Inspectors are required to maintain the proper levels of automobile liability insurance and meet all state requirements on vehicles used for Saybolt assignments.
Inspectors must also maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Local travel and occasional out-of-town assignments are required.
