Akens\Nordburg is looking for a Business Development Manager (m/f) for an international company that develops and commercializes trenchless systems to liaise with water network operators, engineering firms, and contractors. The selected candidate will be responsible to provide engineered solutions for the trenchless renovation of pressure pipes in Spain and Portugal. The successful candidate must have a minimum experience of 10 years in Business Development in the trenchless industry in Spain/Portugal. The successful individual must possess a strong technical background in the construction industry and have the cultural sensitivity to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of a rehabilitation project. The position reports directly to the “Director Business Development Europe” based in Germany.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Educate network operators and engineering firms about trenchless rehabilitation
Provide engineering support for the design, project planning, scheduling, and execution of pressure pipe rehab projects
Create technical specifications and quotations in collaboration with the Head Office
Provide technical assistance to network operators and contractors during all phases of a rehab project including on-site supervisory support
Present the company and products at conferences, exhibitions, workshops and road shows
Identify channels to promote the product and meet agreed sales targets
Active management of certified partners within the territory
Preferred qualifications:
Civil Engineer (or related) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in trenchless rehabilitation of pipes;
Strong communication skills to liaise with engineering firms, contractors, and network operators
Proven track record to market products in the construction industry and achieve sales targets
Spanish (mother tongue) and fluent in English; Portuguese desirable
Structured and analytical approach
Self-motivated and result-oriented individual with hands-on mentality
Strong willingness to travel in the defined territory
A track record displaying loyalty and integrity
Place of work: The candidate will work from a home office preferably in Madrid and surroundings (but not mandatory) and travel regularly within Spain/Portugal from there. Travels to the head office in Germany on specific occasions, e.g. annual sales meeting.
