The high-energy physics group at "Universidad Autónoma de Madrid" (UAM) announces the opening of a PhD position to participate in the ATLAS experiment at CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The ATLAS group at UAM participated in the construction of the ATLAS Liquid Argon electromagnetic endcap calorimeters and contributes to its upgrade, maintenance and operation. The group is actively working on analyses of Electroweak, QCD, Top and Higgs physics with the ATLAS data from the LHC. The successful candidate will join the PLUSPHOTON project, funded by the European Research Council, to work on the exploration on novel techniques for photon isolation as well as QCD measurements with photons.
The position will start on February 1st 2026 and offers an annual gross salary in the range of 26000 to 29000€. Candidates are requested to submit a curriculum vitae, a brief description of their research experience and interests, and a list of the most relevant publications to Ana Cueto (anar.cueto@uam.es) and to arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the same email. Applications received by November 28th will receive full consideration. However, the position will remain open until filled.
