With a Head Office in Galicia, Spain, from where we manage all our purchasing, but with adjacent offices in London, Portugal, and Paris, Miista is currently looking for an Apparel Product Developer and Production Controller with extensive experience in manufacturing relationships development, sourcing, quality control, production management, and price negotiations, especially for the categories of Knitwear, Jersey, Denim, and Leather Accessories / Leather Clothing.
These categories will be the focus of the role. Technical apparel knowledge, especially in Knitwear and Jersey, is a significant plus. This is not a designer role.
The product developer will be responsible for ensuring that each design within the apparel or accessories categories is produced to the desired specifications, quality, and price, while coordinating raw materials and the production critical path in a timely manner. They will work closely with internal teams, including design, production, finance, and merchandising.
We are looking for this candidate to join our product team (apparel) based in A Coruña / Galicia. The position requires traveling at least once a month, mainly to visit external suppliers in Spain and Portugal, overseeing sampling, price negotiations, testing, fittings, and collaborating with our product and buying team in Galicia.

Below are the tasks and responsibilities for this role, along with the candidate requirements:
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the design team during the design & development of new collections for the specified categories, both in Spain and Portugal.
* Act as the main communicator between Miista and external suppliers, ensuring design ideas are realized as close to the initial concept as possible, within the correct price structure and timeline.
* Develop and manage technical specifications (SPECS) for samples and production.
* Negotiate raw material prices with suppliers.
* Negotiate finished product prices and production schedules/dates, aiming to achieve correct margins without compromising quality or function.
* Manage raw material orders for sampling and production.
* Oversee pre-production fittings and design adjustments with external suppliers, including pattern and correction follow-up, size sets, grading, construction, and material checks.
* Manage and control the production critical path, ensuring key dates and checkpoints are met, especially during technical design, pre-production, and production phases.
* Conduct quality control of materials and components, and during production, ensuring processes are followed correctly, including packing and labeling instructions.
* Meet weekly with the Product and Buying Team to review sample approval status and production updates, maintaining company timelines.
Special Requirements:
* Strong interest in premium products with a focus on detail and quality.
* Experience fitting new apparel designs and providing correction comments.
* Training as an apparel specialist in pattern cutting and manufacturing processes is a plus.
* Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
* Good technical knowledge of materials used in apparel production (yarns, knitwear, denim, leather).
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
